DOE Awards Hanford Site Law Enforcement Contract to Benton County
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today awarded a contract to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in Kennewick, Wash., to provide law enforcement services at the DOE Hanford Site. The contract has a five-year period of performance, consisting of a one-year base period, with four one-year option periods and an approximate total value of $5 million.

Office of River Protection contractor receives one-year extension
The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of River Protection (ORP) announced the contract for Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International Inc. (ATL) has been extended for a second one-year option. ATL will continue to provide analytical services and testing work at the Hanford Site 222-S Laboratory through January 2, 2014.

Office of River Protection fills key management position
The Department of Energy Office of River Protection today announced that William (Bill) Hamel has been selected as the Assistant Manager for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) Project. As the Assistant Manager, he is responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the world’s largest and most complex radioactive waste treatment facility.
