The work we do

The Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) is an Amentum-led partnership with Fluor and Atkins – three internationally respected companies with deep experience in environmental cleanup across the DOE complex, including Hanford.

Careers

In December 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) awarded CPCCo a contract to conduct the safe, secure, compliant and cost-effective environmental cleanup of select portions of the Hanford Site. The contract, valued at $10 billion over a 10-year period, oversees:

  • Management of site operations for DOE-Richland cleanup facilities
  • Facility deactivation, decommissioning, decontamination and demolition and waste site remediation
  • Transuranic waste management
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)/Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) decision documents to support cleanup actions associated with the Hanford Federal Facility Agreement and Consent Order
  • Business core functions to support these efforts

We are committed to seeking DOE and regulator alignment on the cleanup vision, refocusing site culture to enhance progress, transforming the skyline, reducing site risk and liability, and shrinking overall industrial footprint, lifecycle costs and schedule.

Our aim is to be the safest, best-performing, most-respected cleanup contractor in the DOE Environmental Management complex. As part of DOE’s One Hanford approach, CPCCo works closely with other site contractors to provide a collaborative, integrated approach to cleanup and risk reduction.
